Explain the product and brand direction
Identify the garment category, intended customer, fit and use. Share a tech pack, reference images or a description of the product you want to develop. Custom streetwear, corporate polos and casual knitwear have different construction and presentation needs. References should be accompanied by your own measurements, artwork and intended changes.
Build a working tech pack
Include measurement points and units, size range, fabric composition or direction, GSM preference, colour references, seams, trims and finishing notes. Where a detail is undecided, mark it as a question for review. A working specification can identify missing decisions without implying that every requested material or process is automatically available.
Prepare labels, artwork and packaging
Provide brand artwork, print or embroidery placement, neck-label dimensions, proposed care-label content, hangtags and packing instructions. Confirm who supplies each file or physical item. Label content should match the approved product and destination requirements; do not assume that a logo file alone defines the complete labeling specification.
Review the sample against the specification
Record comments on fabric, shade, measurements, fit, construction and branding. Use clear photos and measurement notes where helpful. Track revisions in one approved version of the specification. Ask which details require a revised sample and which can be confirmed in writing before bulk production proceeds.
Agree the bulk handover and inspection scope
Confirm the approved design, colourway, quantity by size, labels and packing before production planning. Discuss the inspection points and how questions or changes will be handled. Request clarification of work performed in-house, coordinated externally or unavailable for the requirement. The final written scope should reflect those responsibilities.
Prepare for delivery and future collections
Share the destination, receiving instructions and target date during quotation review. Retain the approved sample reference, tech pack, artwork and packaging records for future inquiries. Materials and commercial terms need reconfirmation for repeat orders. Private-label production is reviewed per requirement, rather than offered as a promise of any fabric, certification or delivery schedule.
